This project was a unique opportunity for me to combine my experience as an amateur videographer with the discovery of an exceptional property nestled in the heart of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region.

The goal? To produce promotional and descriptive films for this property, capturing all the charm and authenticity of this Provencal seasonal rental. Let’s dive together behind the scenes of this creative project!

A Hibiscus Flower Stencil for an Original and Unique Introduction

To kick off this project in style, I wanted to create a strong and memorable visual identity. The idea came to me while watching a video where a cat interacted with a fake house painted using a stencil. This playful nod immediately inspired me: what could be more natural to represent the SCI les HIBISCUS than an elegant hibiscus flower used as a stencil?

This artistic and personalized touch adds a unique signature to the project’s visual communication. It evokes both the floral beauty of Provence and the attention to detail – two essential values for this vacation rental.

On-Site Filming : Immersion and Attention to Detail

To capture the soul of this Provencal house, I took the time to immerse myself on location over several days. While one day of work might have been technically sufficient, I chose a more demanding and quality-driven approach:

• I selected my shooting hours based on natural light to enhance both indoor and outdoor spaces.
• I requested daily feedback on my rushes to adjust my work in real time.
• I recorded the ambient sound of the location, including birdsong at dawn, to recreate the peaceful atmosphere of the Provencal countryside.

This meticulous work took me a little over two days but significantly reduced my editing time for the promotional film. Moreover, all the footage shot will serve to produce a longer descriptive film, detailing each room and every feature of this vacation rental in Provence.

My Equipment for This Shoot

To carry out this project, I used equipment that is both accessible and performant:

• Camera: SONY RX100 version 3 – a versatile compact ideal for video and photography.
• Tripod: Manfrotto – for stable and professional shots.
• Microphone: COMICA lavalier mic – to capture clear audio, especially during walkthroughs.

On the software side, I chose DA VINCI RESOLVE in its free version, a powerful tool for color grading and video editing. For photo retouching, I used GIMP, a free and comprehensive open-source software.
